draft alpha returned

today Tim gave me back my draft for significant revisions, as usual, i apparently was going to do too much, which is a perpetual problem with dissertations and he wants me to focus it down a good bit. in focussing it down, i also have to provide more support for my basic positions to show the dissertation is accomplishable.
