What is Kymaerica

What is Kymaerica:
Kymaerica is a land (and some waters) somewhat co-existent with our
linear world and a general landscape quite similar to large parts of
what we would call North America. There are about 80-90 districts,
containing over 4000 gwomes. A gwome is cognate word meaning “footprint
of (the) nation.” Usually it refers to a nation (so the terms are
often used interchangably), but it is actually a term for a physical
area within a district which has a unified political structure.
Kymaerican influences and stories are everywhere in our linear world
and likely vice versa. But there also many wonders in Kymaerica not
easily found here.

paris… or nyc. either would be good

You Belong in Paris

You enjoy all that life has to offer, and you can appreciate the fine tastes and sites of Paris.
You’re the perfect person to wander the streets of Paris aimlessly, enjoying architecture and a crepe.

You Are 66% Evil

You are very evil. And you’re too evil to care.
Those who love you probably also fear you. A lot.

International Workshop in Madrid using open source technologies for artistic production

Media Lab Madrid, together with David Cuartielles (Arduino), Casey Reas
(Processing), Zach Liebermann (Code Artist), and Hans C. Steiner
(PureData) are proud to present a two weeks project development workshop
to happen in Madrid – Spain between April 17 – 30, 2006.

Main goal to this workshop is to create projects including open source
technologies in an open source way. All the pieces will be then exhibited
for -at least- another three weeks, and then will be toured through
different venues. So far already two festivals to happen before the summer
2006 have manifested their interest in getting this work.

The workshop is fully financed by Media Lab Madrid and the Centro Cultural
Conde Duque. You only have to take care of your transportation +
accomodation in the area.

For more information and downloading the application forms, please check
the following web-sites:

I’m Impressed too

I’m Impressed:

Usually I experience a movie trailer as a good reason not to see the movie: either the trailer is awful, or it has all the best parts, or it has all the plot, so why bother. (Or it has icky voice-overs by that deep-voiced guy who does all the voice overs, or the same intensifying chorus that they use for effect in so many action movies and expect me to react to in a Pavlovian fashion.)

But the trailer for ‘A Scanner Darkly’ not only has none of these, but it makes me want to see the movie.

========

this looks like it could be a great movie
