Happy Birthday Pirate Publishing
Happy Birthday Pirate Publishing:
Today Dagens Nyheter profiles Piratförlaget (Pirate Publishing), an upstart book publisher that rocked the staid world of the Swedish book industry when it published its first book at the end of April five years ago. Pirate was founded when Sigge Sigfridsson, Liza Marklund and Jan Guillou–three best-selling genre novelists–abandoned their publishers to start their own publishing house with the help of Guillou’s wife, Ann-Marie Skarp, who became head of the company.

Action Philosophers!
Action Philosophers!:
Because you demanded it, Evil Twin Comics brings you Action Philosophers!
Each issue of Action Philosophers is devoted to “detailing the lives and thoughts of history’s A-list brain trust in a hip and humorous way that proves that philosophy is not just the province of boring tweed-enveloped college professors.” Larger …

the garageband originals of 1,2,3.
The original is the zero copy, copy 1 is a derivative of that, mainly changes to the sound profiles of their instruments, copy two is a derivative of copy 1, and goes further by deleting some of their sounds and adding some new sounds. copy 3 is a new start from copy 0 and it rearranges vocals, drums, changes most sounds and adds about 4 new tracks in garageband, while deleting a few others. so i’ll probably keep these around for a few days before i delete them and play with something else for a while. if you want a copy of 2 or 3, i can give it to you, email me at buridan@tmttlt.com

Wisconsin State Journal
Wisconsin State Journal:
Senior John Koskinen, 22, Lechner’s best friend, estimates that eight out of 10 students know Lechner or have heard of him. Last year, Lechner even had a car in the Homecoming parade with the sign, “Been in college for 10 years.”
“He’s one of those people in life who actually has the guts to do what makes him happy,” Koskinen said. “He’s one of the happiest people in the entire world, and if you reach that level of happiness, why not keep doing it?”

Ibiza Outdoor Lights with Speakers : Gizmodo
Ibiza Outdoor Lights with Speakers : Gizmodo
Italy’s Oluce has unveiled their new line of outdoor lights called Ibiza. The Oluce fixtures are made out of white, weatherproof polyethlene and feature an integrated speaker. They’re not wireless, sadly, with a separate stereo cable included. The speakers also only put out 20 watts, so this might be the type of fixture for your local dark (yet style-conscious) parking lot instead of your own backyard. Available now, if you can hunt down an Oluce distributor.
