Very few things make me really happy, but my research center is one of them. Today I found the materials that the center for digital discourse and culture hosts is cited the world book encyclopedia online, previously i had known it was used in the britannica online, but another encyclopedia is always good. It is also found in Introduction to International Relations by Oxford University Press. It has also been used in reports to the U.N. and many other places. too many to list, but still it amazes me how many people use these materials worldwide. so you ask what are we talking about we are talking about around 270gb plus or minus of materials on any given day, but covering such a broad range of material, from theory, to governance, to art, to history, to literature and more, just alot of archived material that seems to be important to people. Have to thank Tim and Len for being the directors, and Deans that have supported it also.

fixed macromedia

ok, i admit it, i use dreamweasle to maintain some sites….. i also use bbedit and pico to maintain other sites, and when you get me in a bad mood i just might run a site through a shell script or two just to mess with ya, but nonetheless, after my 10.3 upgrade i found today that nothing macroshmedia worked. i clicked, it bounced, then closed, so i checked the console, found the 'authentication service' error and googled finding the site below which told me what i needed to do and voila, it worked. so if you are having problems with macrovision from macromedia, a clearly malengineered product, then go to /Library/Preferences and get rid of the macrovision directory. then the authentification service will require a new one and everything works.

all this cause i told Charles that I would update the internet ethics site with Elizabeth's and his work.

Coding the Classroom: Technology and The Practice of Language. “The technology of the Information Age depends on programming languages for functionality. Because programming languages ultimately affect the production of language digitally, programming languages will inevitably demonstrate a lasting effect on the process of writing. Hence it is important to recognize the impact of programming languages on the production of language. It may well be the necessary first step in understanding technologyâs reverberating presence in the classroom.” (Claudia Herbst – First Monday 8.11)… [InfoDesign: To Surf The Community]

Effect of ejournals on libraries. Victoria Robertson, The impact of electronic journals on academic libraries: the changing relationship between journals, acquisitions and inter-library loans department roles and functions, Interlending & Document Supply, 31, 3 (2003), pp. 174-179. Excerpt: “Academic libraries are in a transition period owing to the economic climate and the rise in the price of electronic and print journals.
