The “Semantic Technologies for E-Government” Conference was held at the White House Conference Centeron September 8th. This was a very successful event with over 130 attendees. Among many agencies represented were Army, Census Bureau, CIA, DIA, DOE, EPA, GSA, IRS, Navy, NARA, NASA, NSA, NSF, SSA, USDA and US Patent Office. A number of attendees were from non-profit organizations such as Aerospace.org and Mitre. Major goverment contractors were also well represented by the attendees from BBN, CSC, Lockheed Martin and SAIC.

draft alpha returned
today Tim gave me back my draft for significant revisions, as usual, i apparently was going to do too much, which is a perpetual problem with dissertations and he wants me to focus it down a good bit. in focussing it down, i also have to provide more support for my basic positions to show the dissertation is accomplishable.

Sifry has just added a new API call to Technorati called getinfo. It lets you get information that a blogger has made available about themselves on their blog like a link to their FOAF file, LOAF file or their GeoURL. The great thing about this is if you've claimed your blog, this is a verifiable way to link your Technorati ID with your blog. LOTS of amazing things this could enable… (There will be a quiz at the end.)
