i'm pretty sure that if i put the work into it, that i'd have a erdos number. it is probably a 5 or a 6, but maybe it is lower. i have a fairly short tree to lenin and marx going through kautsky, but overall i'm pretty sure it doesn't matter much. though academic lineage does have some import i suppose in some respects.

not much you can say about this, other than it will keep happening until someone decides that there is just too much at stake.

Finally, getting rid of the clunker
i've had a 1984 chrysler town and country station wagon for a very long time, since 1992, when my aunt and uncle gave it to me. it ran fine right up until the last year more or less, but then i bought i truck. I tried in january to get some guys to take it off my hands, and finally i managed to do that. They'll come pick it up tomorrow at 8am, and that is one less thing that i have to think about. it will be gone.
update: it is gone, they came about 7:50am and rolled it up on the flatbed, i had that car for 10 years, and put a sum of 30k miles on it.
