Adultery could mean life | Battle Creek Enquirer – www.battlecreekenquirer.com – Battle Creek, Mich.:
In a ruling sure to make philandering spouses squirm, Michigan’s second-highest court says that anyone involved in an extramarital fling can be prosecuted for first-degree criminal sexual conduct, a felony punishable by up to life in prison.
“We cannot help but question whether the Legislature actually intended the result we reach here today,” Judge William Murphy wrote in November for a unanimous Court of Appeals panel, “but we are curtailed by the language of the statute from reaching any other conclusion.”

so… while adultery is wrong… is it worth life in prison?

Of course not, but I’m of the opinion that efforts to ban gay marriage by constitutional amendment should be replaced by efforts to ban adultery by constitutional amendment. After all the Bible is MUCH clearer on that one, and there’s no question which one undermines the institution of wedlock more seriously…
lol. I can’t but disagree with everyone. adultry cannot be banned for biblical reasons, because you can’t take only part of the bible, as jesus says. It is all or nothing with christianity.
And there’s nothing ‘wrong’ with adultry, “Voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a partner other than the lawful spouse,” where does it say that doing this it itself wrong. Non-standard, yes. Frowned upon, yes. Only the puritans seem to have a problem with it.
