:
The Summer/Winter Schools should help interested students and academicians as well as individuals working in the private sector or in government, to understand better the global Internet Governance controversy and to get a comprehensive and structured knowledge on the various aspects of Internet Governance. It is organized by a consortium of European Universities and in close cooperation with UNESCO, the Diplo Foundation and the Internet Governance Forum (IGF). It offers a one week course (40 hours) and covers the political, legal, economic, socio-cultural, technological and other dimensions of the governance of the Internet. Each academic lecture will be followed by a Q&A Session. There will be smaller workshops and round tables in the evening for interactive communication with faculty members and leading experts from governments and industry which will be invited for special presentations followed by a daily “Snacks & Wine” for informal interpersonal discussion. The Summer School is followed by an international academic symposium, August 4 – 5, 2007

It should be interesting… maybe I’ll be able to use my Fellowship money for it, I could use another fellowship at this rate.

Open Source Software in Education Series on Terra Incognita – WikiEducator

Open Source Software in Education Series on Terra Incognita – WikiEducator:
elcome to the Open Source Software in Education Series project site. Thank you very much for your interest in this project. The goal of the project is to collect and expose the thoughts of practical innovators in education who can provide insights on the impact of OSS in a forum that allows for some commenting and discussion. It is then my hope to make the postings and comments available as Open Educational Resources on WikiEducator. I imagine these resources being used in a number formal and informal educational setting across disciplines.

Thinking Points

Thinking Points

Rockridge Institute
:
Thinking Points: Communicating our American Values and Vision is George Lakoff and the Rockridge Institute’s handbook for the grassroots progressive community. You, the progressive community, have expressed a need for a short, easy-to-read systematic account of the progressive vision, for the morals and principles that apply across issue areas, and for all the essentials of framing. That, along with extensive argument analysis and an important new explanation of the so-called political center, is what we’ve written. We are confident that this book will empower progressives to express themselves in an authentic, values-driven fashion.

Lackoff’s new book is here and free.
