Csikszentmihalyi starts doctoral programme on happiness:
According to the Los Angeles Times, Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, author of the 1990 bestseller “Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience” and a pioneer in positive psychology, is leading a new doctoral programme on happiness at Claremont Graduate University (in California).
“The PhD program in the emerging field of positive psychology marks an advance for serious research into human happiness and related quality-of-life concerns. It’s an arena drawing the attention of psychologists, as well as neuroscientists, economists and even political scientists.”

TextArc.org Home:
A TextArc is a visual represention of a text—the entire text (twice!) on a
single page. A funny combination of an index, concordance, and summary;
it uses the viewer’s eye to help uncover meaning.
Here are more detailed overviews of the interactive work
and the prints.

TALL blog » Blog Archive » Some real data on Web 2.0 use:
The SPIRE project was originally looking into the possibility of using peer-to-peer technologies in UK HE and FE for informal sharing but switched to a more Web 2.0 focus as it became clear that these types of services where already having an impact on the tertiary education sector. They also appear to be where most of the informal sharing and collaboration is taking place online these days.

:
The Summer/Winter Schools should help interested students and academicians as well as individuals working in the private sector or in government, to understand better the global Internet Governance controversy and to get a comprehensive and structured knowledge on the various aspects of Internet Governance. It is organized by a consortium of European Universities and in close cooperation with UNESCO, the Diplo Foundation and the Internet Governance Forum (IGF). It offers a one week course (40 hours) and covers the political, legal, economic, socio-cultural, technological and other dimensions of the governance of the Internet. Each academic lecture will be followed by a Q&A Session. There will be smaller workshops and round tables in the evening for interactive communication with faculty members and leading experts from governments and industry which will be invited for special presentations followed by a daily “Snacks & Wine” for informal interpersonal discussion. The Summer School is followed by an international academic symposium, August 4 – 5, 2007

It should be interesting… maybe I’ll be able to use my Fellowship money for it, I could use another fellowship at this rate.

Open Source Software in Education Series on Terra Incognita – WikiEducator
Open Source Software in Education Series on Terra Incognita – WikiEducator:
elcome to the Open Source Software in Education Series project site. Thank you very much for your interest in this project. The goal of the project is to collect and expose the thoughts of practical innovators in education who can provide insights on the impact of OSS in a forum that allows for some commenting and discussion. It is then my hope to make the postings and comments available as Open Educational Resources on WikiEducator. I imagine these resources being used in a number formal and informal educational setting across disciplines.
