Facebook | Message: Memorial Fund & Upcoming Fundraisers

Facebook | Message: Memorial Fund & Upcoming Fundraisers:
In response to multiple inquiries about both setting up a memorial fund as well as any local fundraisers, we have launched a website that will allow the Manhattan Hokies to raise both awareness and support for the victims and their families.

Please visit: http://www.nyhokiescare.org

for details.

Additionally, in the coming days, we will be announcing the details about a fundraising event in early May that will also contribute to this cause.

Thank you in advance for your support during these trying times.

Hokie Hope -Orange and Maroon Effect Friday April 20th

Hokie Hope – Orange and Maroon Effect Friday April 20th

I know this email is quickly circulating around through the Hokie community,
so I apologize if some of you have already received this, but I wanted to
pass it on to both my VT and non-VT friends…please participate if you wish
and pass along to others as well.

*Virginia Tech family members across the country have united to declare this
Friday, April 20th, an “Orange and Maroon Effect” day to honor those killed
in the tragic events on campus Monday, and to show support for Virginia Tech
students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, and friends. “Orange and
Maroon Effect” was born several years ago as an invitation to Tech fans to
wear orange and maroon to Virginia Tech athletic events. We invite everyone
from all over the country to be a part of the Virginia Tech family this
Friday, to wear orange and maroon to support the families of those who were
lost, and to support the school and community we all love so much.*

Manhattan Candle Light Vigil

All:

Again, thanks to each of you who have reached out with thoughts,
prayers, and suggestions.

Let me also apologize for not responding to each of your individual
inquiries/questions – as you can imagine, the response has been
overwhelming.

As Hokie Nation, and the nation as a whole, grieves over the tragedy
at Virginia Tech, Manhattan Hokies has planned a candle light vigil to
be held at Washington Square Park on Thursday April 19th at 7:30pm.
There will be a moment of silence to honor the victims, families and
friends of those affected.

Please feel free to forward this to anyone else who might be interested.

Respectfully,

Steve Hole
President
