perhaps it is just me, but i cannot imagine a contemporary capitalist society where, the illegal economy would not be more stable. it by definition has to fix arbitrage on secondary means of legitimation.

too bad it is past my bedtime ;) but i was thinking back to my readings on the informal economy as a system of social legitimation and extension of legitimation.

I think the informal economy is a different business from the illegal economy which is actually quite formal.

I agree, but the informal economy is what made me think about the problem of sustaining systems, then the fixing of arbitrage from braudel, and then the system of legitimation
