Women in Computing Professions. Open Lecture & Meeting by Invitation Women in Computing Professions: Will the Internet Make a Difference? Date: 17-18 June 2004… [GENDER & COMPUTING]
——
will it make a difference? no, to me, or at least it seems to me. the issue isn't a technical one, so much as a socioeconomic one… it really depends on the structuration of computing professions and everything that goes on in that, and well the interent at best will play a factoral role, and not a causal one.

L'internationale on your blog day!. It occurred to me this morning that today might be a really good day for the workers to unite and rise up. I mean, what do they have to lose?
In that spirit (the tune is here for those of you with RealPlayer):
Debout les damnŽs de la terre
Debout les forats de la faim
La raison tonne en son cratre
C'est l'Žruption de la fin
Du passe faisons table… [Michael BŽrubŽ Online]

it is a bit ironic but i have my cellphone ringtone set to play the internationale, billy bragg version….
