Copyright transfer: read and sign, right? Wait! ….. Professor Stuart M. Shieber of Harvard University has posted two sample Alternative Copyright Assignments on his web site. One transfers copyright to the publisher but retains other non-commercial usage rights; the other is a license to publish the work but keeps copyright and all other IP rights in the hands of the author.
