i wouldn't call this a moral collapse, that would have required morals to be upstanding beforehand and there is no current evidence of that, what i would call it is an intellectual norm, it would be a collapse if there was evidence of intellectual capacity before a collapse, but there again was not. bush got in because he played a role to the american people, he made them think that he cared and could do the job, he has done neither and nis lack of care toward scientific evidence is just more evidence of that.

Individual Arrested for Hacking into Messenger Conversations (Digital

Police said, Kim downloaded a hacking program called RADMIN
through a portal site and installed it in the employeesâ computers around
last December and occasionally reported the conversation contents to the
companyâs executives with the intention of getting the staff, about whom he
usually did not have good feelings, fired.

A person known by the last name Park (32), whose Messenger conversation was
hacked by Kim, said, For some time, I had the feeling that the
executives and company head knew all about the private discussions
colleagues had through Messenger. I began to suspect [something was
up]. He then said, By chance, I saw my Messenger screen open on
Kimâs computer and was surprised, so
I reported it.

“To Do or to Have? That is the Question”.

A recent posting on the subject of Panamanian married couples who drive older cars but hire live-in nannies to help with their children sparked quite a few comments.  Alex Chernavsky sent in this newspaper story about research done by social psychologists, the conclusion of which was that if you're going to spend money you should buy an experience, e.g., dinner out with friends or a vacation trip, rather than a new car.  The full paper is an interesting read as well.
