Gore blurts out the truth. Fantastic speech by Gore today about the administration's dangerous consolidation of executive power: The seductive exercise of unilateral power has led this president to interpret his powers under the constitution in a way that would have been the worst nightmare of our framers… …In the end, for this administration, it is all about power. This lie about the invented connection between al Qaeda and Iraq was and is the key to justifying the current ongoing Constitutional power grab by the President. So long as their big flamboyant lie remains an established fact in the publicâs mind, President Bush will be… [Joho the Blog]

my opinion is that… it isn't just about power, it is the will to use that power to oppress, to disempower, and as such to consolidate that power and build their vision of the new xtian 'merica which looks to me to be much more like the nostalgia of the 50's found in the movie harrison bergeron…….

AP Sues for Access To GWB Military Records (What Took You So Long?). AP suing the Pentagon to get 100% of GW Bush’s service records. It has always seemed odd to me that (1) Bush did not in fact ever make all his records available, and indeed reneged on his pledge to do so; (2) requests for the records now go through the White House; (3) there are things missing that have no right to be missing, notably the discharge papers with their separation codes; (4) no one in the press seemed to care about the loose ends in the story. Is it a coincidence that this law suit comes just after Bush starts falling in the polls? I would hate to think the press corps was so craven that they only dare ask hard questions when they smell blood. But how else to explain the timing?… [Discourse.net]

it is about time. but by now the grand ole party prolly have completely fouled things up and the truth sought in the records will never be found.
